Truly the PERFECT Pillow!, October 16, 2010 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Carpenter Memory Foam Contour Bed Pillow (Kitchen) I purchased a set of these pillows in a Department Store several years ago and my husband and I absolutely love them! They are super comfortable and no neck probems - ever! I choose to sleep on the low contour and he likes the high. You can turn the pillow around based on your preference. I would highly recommend this pillow. You won't be sorry!

And yes it's a bit high so the edge props up against the shoulder.
BUT - this is exactly what I like about it! My problem with traditional pillow is that I sleep on my back and the pillow edge always sags and forces my chin down which (1) makes my snoring worse cause my airway is often blocked (2) I wake up in the morning with neck pain.
I have been using this pillow for about two weeks and so far I love it because it props up against the shoulder and I don't get a neck pain in the morning and it seems to help with my snoring. At least I feel refreshed in the morning.
The only problem was getting used to it in the begining because it's harder to sleep on and also you can't turn your head as easily.

I often have used two regular pillows, and still have always shoved my hand under my jaw or alongside my cheek when I am sleeping, because my pillows are never FIRM enough to support my head. It isn't good to sleep with your arms in that position, it often makes my whole arm hurt.
I mostly sleep on my sides, and my shoulders always bore my weight, and were always sore, and before this pillow... after sleeping 45 minutes, I would toss and turn to switch sides - but NOW that I have this pillow, it has taken ALL the pressure off my shoulders, it firmly but comfortably supports my neck and head, and I SLEEP like a baby. YAY! The first night I slept on it, I STOPPED tossing and turning. I didn't know I could sleep 5 or 6 hours straight in the same position! I haven't done that in many years. And my arms are down, relaxed, at my sides. YAYNESS!
